JANUARY 2nd (Afternoon)
Well we did it. We saved the day again!
The blue skinned D-Bees we saved earlier today told us about a Coalition carrier where more of their kind were being held, so after an e-vac flier spirited Naught away and our missing dragon reappeared, we went off to intercept the carrier.
Not as many CS Deadboys and bots as before, but they were spread out around the carrier, which itself was armed to the teeth. Elijah had the plan of flying in on the dragon (she was trying to impress everyone with her new ability to cover herself in flame…been there, done that).
Elijah was gunning for their leader, some special ops Deadboy officer, and wanting the carrier in tact because I guess he was wanting a vehicle upgrade.
So our surprise attack began with a bang from the Glitterboy. Three CS disappeared in a smoking Boom Cannon crater.
Elijah and the dragon flew in and landed atop the CS carrier, and I guess the techno mage also, but all invisible like as he would appear later inside the carrier and I never saw him go inside.
The Glitterboy and Cogsworth kept most the soldiers busy, the dragon became the large target as always by the weapons on the carrier, and I think Elijah turned invisible too or else the CS special ops officer was dancing with two grenades inside the carrier surrounded by more blue skinned D-Bee prisoners for no reason.
I didn’t unleash my inner flames on too many enemies, only two fell to me. My flame is more of a heavy weapon in a small package then a machine gun spray and pray. I did get inside the carrier where the Tech Mage had finally shown up. He was trying without much success to coax the D-Bees to get out of the carrier before that dancing officer finally let go of those grenade and blew the blue off of them.
The dragon didn’t help persuade the prisoners either when it got mad at being shot up by the carrier’s guns and roared.
I actually managed to get the job done despite being sheathed in blue flame. Perhaps it was the color relation they trusted?
At the end of the fight, the prisoners were safe, Elijah and the Tech Mage blew the officer’s brains through the back of his skull helmet, the rest of the soldiers around the carrier were destroyed, and a raging dragon wrecked the carrier Elijah so wanted to take in tact. Our fearless leader had to make due with stripping off the few weapons still in tact on the carrier to put on to our transports. Can’t win them all.
Another e-vac transport with some salvage engineers came for the D-Bees and the remains of the carrier, while the rest of us patched up what few scratches we got and continued on our way.
